This week’s job is probably one of the most important jobs a person could have these days. With 23.2 million veterans in America in 2008 (accordign to U.S. Census data) and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continuing to send more and more home each day, there is a need for people to support our country’s soldiers once they are home. In Oklahoma City, there is an opening for one such position, as a social worker for the Veteran’s Health Administration.
Because it’s such an important job, with huge responsibilities, it comes with lengthy requirements. This position requires not only the ability to work independently and with a sensitivity to the veteran and his/her family, but also a knowledge of the psychosocial and psychological effects of war.

- Licensed to practice social work in Oklahoma
- U.S.
citizen
