If you’re a parent with a child desperate to go to summer camp, it’s not too late. It may be mid-July, but there are still a ton of camps with late summer sessions still enrolling soon-to-be happy campers. From music to surfing, there is a camp for just about any interest your child might have. Here are a few that might interest your little camper:
Academy by the Sea-Camp Pacific (July 25-31), Carlsbad, California- This is a one-week surf and bodyboard camp for boys and girls ages 8-16. The camp consists of classroom learning, beach instruction and individual practice. Wether your child is a beginner or already has some experience, this program will undoubtedly help him hang ten like a pro.
Ballibay Farm Arts Camp (July 25- Aug 7), Camptown, Pennsylvania- This two-week program offers a variety of activities to young campers. Boys and girls ages 6-16 can ride horses, learn about gardening and cooking and learn the basics of 35mm photography.
Summer Institute for the Gifted (Various dates)- College campuses: UCLA, Princeton, Dartmouth and Amherst- The SIG program is perfect for the little academic in the family. Enrollment is still open for the campuses listed and the program combines academic challenges for gifted students with social and recreational activities.
Power Chord Academy (Various dates)- Various cities across the country- Is your son or daughter the next Mick Jagger or Madonna? Enroll them in this summer music camp to find out. Located in cities throughout the country, aspiring junior musicians can take the stage and showcase their talents at this real like School of Rock.
