For several years, Joe was a contributing editor at that leader in cyber-warfare, the former Intervention Magazine. As a teacher of English at the community college level, one of the intellectual problems I face is reconciling my love for literature with my strengthening conviction that superstition and irrational thinking are detrimental to modern society.

When I choose novels for my students to read, I try to pick stories that will take them to places that are strange and unfamiliar, that will present a world to them that they cannot see when they look into their mirrors.

As a teacher, I try to approach my students as individuals and not let their ethnicity influence my judgment of their abilities. Perhaps that is not always the right approach, but it's the only one I can take with peace of mind.
